Naval Brass Bar
Farmer’s Copper sustains a wide inventory of C464 brass in round rod and sharp corner hex bar. C46400 brass rod has fair machinability with a rating of 35% of free cutting yellow brass. The turnings do not break readily at the cutting tool, and as such, tend to be stringy and long. Alloy 464 exhibits an excellent capacity for being hot worked. Best results are obtained at 1200-1300 Fahrenheit. It also can be cold worked moderately, however, stress relieving at 500 Fahrenheit after cold working will reduce the possibility of stress corrosion cracking for about one hour.
